Inline mode

Invocation

After @botname is entered, queries are sent with a 500 ms debounce. Empty results remain hidden; an unavailable bot gets a dedicated state.

Results

Results are horizontally scrollable text, image, or video cards. Selecting a card immediately publishes it as the user’s message in the current chat.

Privacy

Inline queries do not expose room history, membership, or content. Send only a bot-scoped actor id, query text, and an opaque context id.

SDK practice

Return a short stable id for each result and no more than twenty cards. Cache expensive lookups by a normalized query.

Inline results are posted as the user, so return only ready-to-publish safe content with accurate media MIME types.
